UBC Throwback: 2005
Project: The Iona Building, University of British Columbia Vancouver
Timeline: 2004 to 2005
One of our earliest projects was at the University of British Columbia working on the beautiful and historic Iona Building, previously home to the Vancouver School of Theology. It's hard to believe it's now been over 10 years since we completed work on this amazing building.
The project was comprehensive involving the installation of seismic footings, seismic sheer walls, rebar dowel installations floor levelling with overlay, and of course shotcrete application. We also did repairs on some of the building's stunning window openings such as these:
Originally built in 1927, it's safe to say that the Iona building was due for some upgrades. This project was one of our most memorable, and we're proud to have been a part of the restoration of this beautiful structure.
