Evergreen Line - 2 km of Separation
Now that the dust has settled a little, we wanted to post a few more pictures of our work on the Evergreen Line. On this project, our team faced many challenges with a tight time-line and logistical difficulties, but we proved more than up to the task.
Our work in the Evergreen Line Tunnel spans from Clark Street in Coquitlam to Barnett Highway in Port Moody running about 2 kilometres from end to end. We installed a 6.3 metre high separating wall down the centre of the tunnel on a declining grade of about 6%. One of the most significant challenges wasn't the grade or the volume of shotcrete, but logistically organising and supplying the shotcrete into the tunnel. Our crew worked on a tight timeline around the clock 6 days a week to ensure that we completed on schedule. With a total of about 12,000 square metres of wet mix shotcrete installed in total, we're happy to have come in ahead of schedule and on budget. What can we say? We do love a good challenge. Take a look at some of the pictures below to see more.
